Replace text or numbers with the Find Replace Press Ctrl+H or go to Home Find Select Replace. In Find what, type the text or numbers you want to find. Something about your text or your default text box settings is making the text not able to fit within the text box you drew. For example, your text may have an indent that is too wide for your text box, or the font is too large for the text to fit within the text box.
Modifying text boxes Select the text box you want to change. On the Format tab, click the More drop-down arrow in the Shape Styles group. A drop-down menu of styles will appear. Select the style you want to use. The text box will appear in the selected style.

If you receive or open a document and cant make any changes, it might be Open for viewing only in Protected View. Follow these steps to edit: Go to File Info. Select Protect document.
Editing in a text box Double click the text box. In Drawing (Preview), select the text box to place your cursor and edit text. When finished select Save and Close to view updated text box.
Unlock a protected document On the Review tab, in the Protect group, click Restrict Editing. In the Restrict Editing task pane, click Stop Protection. If you are prompted to provide a password, type the password.
