Elements in a table can be inserted, changed, and deleted. These functions are all performed by the WRITE/TABLE or COPY commands (See Table 5.4). The element to be modified must be defined by giving its column and row location. An element is deleted if the value is set to NULL.
Click in the table that you want to format. Under Table Tools, click the Design tab. In the Table Styles group, rest the pointer over each table style until you find a style that you want to use. Click the style to apply it to the table.
Click the Change Time/Attributes button (indicated below). A new window will open with details of what properties you can change. Enable the checkbox next to Created and set the exact date and time that you want to set as the files creation date.
No matter which option you choose to create a table, the table can be modified after it is inserted. You can modify the design or the layout of the table.
To change the data type of a column in a table, use the following syntax: SQL Server / MS Access: ALTER TABLE tablename. ALTER COLUMN columnname datatype; My SQL / Oracle (prior version 10G): ALTER TABLE tablename. MODIFY COLUMN columnname datatype; Oracle 10G and later: ALTER TABLE tablename.
Apply a table style to an existing table Select any cell in the table. Select Design. In the Table Styles gallery, select the table style you want to apply. Note: To remove a table style, select Design. In the Table Styles gallery, select More, and then select Clear or Clear Table.
You can modify your table in different ways, i.e. you can choose a table style, table design, draw borders.
ALTER TABLE is used to add, delete/drop or modify columns in the existing table. It is also used to add and drop various constraints on the existing table. ADD is used to add columns into the existing table.
Open a slide with a table, click on the table and the Layout tab appears. After selecting the Layout tab there are options available to modify rows, columns, merge cells, change cell size, modify the alignment, the table size and arrange the table position. Here is how to modify a table with those various options.
