hey guys welcome to my youtube channel so in this episode we will show you how to edit a table based on the value of another table okay so this is a sample application that i have basically this is a room rentals so this is these are the available rooms that we have and then this is the data whenever we create a new reservation lets say a new check-in once the room is rented it will become rented also here okay so for example lets add one a new data now lets say here status check in lets choose the flat number one and then guess lets say joe not for example one two three four five six six and then the rate lets say 10 lets say the check-in is today okay so once you save it the room number should be updated see as you can see the room number is number one and the status is checked in and here still not changing so our goal is once we once this room number is rented here it will automatically change the status to rented and once we also edit this lets say this guest already chec

Returns a table that represents a subset of another table or expression.
The FILTER function in DAX allows you to iterate down the rows of any table, creating a row context for each and testing whether the row should be included in your calculation. You can combine filters using keywords like AND and OR and also nest one filter within another.
In DAX, you can use the RELATED() function if the current two tables have already a relationship. Or, you can use the DAX LOOKUPVALUE() function if you cant create a relationship between the two tables. Also, you could try to use merge or append in the Power Query Editor.
In a static data column, users can manually enter text data. In a dynamic data column, the data is displayed as retrieved from any mapping, such as context data or API response. The API value mapping depends on the dynamic data root node that you select.
Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) is a formula expression language used in Analysis Services, Power BI, and Power Pivot in Excel. DAX formulas include functions, operators, and values to perform advanced calculations and queries on data in related tables and columns in tabular data models.
A static table has a fixed number of rows and columns and cannot be refreshed. Usually it is useful whenever you have a list of settings or parameters or values that will never change unless you will modify other parts of the data model and/or of DAX measures.
FILTER DAX Function (Filter) Returns a table that has been filtered.
CALCULATETABLE is identical to CALCULATE, except for the result: it returns a table instead of a scalar value.
Method using DAX: 1. Since the Requirement is the single value of each Task, we could use LOOKUPVALUE() to transfer it from Table1 to Table2.Method using M in Power Query: Merge Task and Process table. Click Expand icon -- Select Aggregate -- Only select Sum of HasDone. Add a custom column to calculate the remaining.
If you want to have all the data rows of the two tables appended to each other, you can use UNION function in DAX. This function, simply gets the two input tables, and returns the appended result. The Union function is a tabular function, and cannot be used directly in a measure.
