R markdown is text-based formatting that allows you to embed code and explanatory text in the same document. R markdown documents consist of a header, code chunks and text. R markdown files (. Rmd) can be rendered to other document formats (e.g. html, pdf, docx) to generate reports or web applications.
In HTML, youd need to use and to make text appear bold. In Markdown, you just use asterisks, like so: *something in bold*, and it will appear in your browser as something in bold.
There are two ways to format code in Markdown. You can either use inline code, by putting backticks (`) around parts of a line, or you can use a code block, which some renderers will apply syntax highlighting to.
If you need to justify whole document like me, then add p { text-align: justify; } to the CSS. Additionally you can also add ul { text-align: justify; } for list elements.
Upon installing, inserttable registers a new RStudio Addin (Insert Table) that can be used to easily insert a table in a Rmd document. To use it, open a Rmd or R document and select Addins Insert Table.

Tables. To add a table, use three or more hyphens ( --- ) to create each columns header, and use pipes ( | ) to separate each column. For compatibility, you should also add a pipe on either end of the row.
Markdown table syntax. The easiest way to create a table is to click on the table icon in the editing tool bar at the top of the editing area. You can also create table using keyboard like a pro. We use | , - , and enter to create table with Markdown.
To create a new RMarkdown file ( . Rmd ), select File - New File - R Markdown in RStudio , then choose the file type you want to create.
