Safari browser initially seemed horrible compared to Chrome, but after getting used to it, discovered it has unique features. Tab groups are different in Safari, using command shift L to toggle them on the left. These tab groups act as separate instances, persisting even after quitting and reopening Safari. To hide them, use command shift L again. The start page in Safari may have distractions, but can be removed by clicking the menu at the bottom right.
