Darwin information typing architecture (DITA) is an XML-based standard to create, edit, manage, and publish large volumes of documentation in multiple formats and languages. The DITA XML standards core principles make it stand out from the line of other content management solutions.

Oxygen XML Editor provides a validation function for DITA maps that does more than simply validating that the XML is well-formed. It also does the following: Validates all of the relationships defined in the maps. Validates all of the files that are included in the map.
DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) is a standard methodology typically used by technical content experts to create, structure, and distribute content in a way that can be easily reused across multiple publications and platforms.
