hi everyone my name is kevin today i want to show you how you could password protect an excel spreadsheet why would you want to do that well maybe you have a spreadsheet that has sensitive information maybe you have financial data and you donamp;#39;t want other people to access it put a password on it and thatamp;#39;ll prevent other people from entering unless they know the password uh and as full disclosure before we jump into this i work at microsoft as a full-time employee all right enough talk letamp;#39;s jump into it here i am on my pc and i have the latest version of excel that comes with office uh 365. if you have a recent version like 2019 2016 2013 or any version before the password production uh protection capability has been there for a while so you should be able to do this but i canamp;#39;t guarantee anything because iamp;#39;m just on the latest version all right well letamp;#39;s open up excel and oh i have important financial data in this sheet this is an inco

Open the workbook that you want to change or remove the password for. On the Review tab, click Protect Sheet or Protect Workbook. Click Unprotect Sheet or Protect Workbook and enter the password. Clicking Unprotect Sheet automatically removes the password from the sheet.
Selectively Display Hidden Cells, Rows, and Columns Click the Select All button, in the upper-left corner of the worksheet or press Ctrl + A. Click the Home tab Format (in the Cells group) Hide Unhide Unhide Rows or Unhide Columns. All cells are now visible.
To unprotect a sheet, follow these steps: Go to the worksheet you want to unprotect. Go to File Info Protect Unprotect Sheet, or from the Review tab Changes Unprotect Sheet. If the sheet is protected with a password, then enter the password in the Unprotect Sheet dialog box and select OK.
Go to File Info Protect Workbook and remove any passwords or restricted access settings.
On the Review tab, select Unprotect Sheet (in the Protect group). Select Protect Sheet to change to Unprotect Sheet when a worksheet is protected. If prompted, enter the password to unprotect the worksheet.
To remove all formatting in Excel, just do the following: Select the cell or range of cells from which you want to clear formatting. On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click the arrow next to the Clear button. Select the Clear Formats option.
File - Info - Check for Issues - Inspect Document - Inspect and then remove Document Properties and Personal Information.
To unlock a sheet in an Excel workbook, right-click the sheets tab and click Unprotect sheet.
