Hello today we are going to learn how to add different page numbers to different sections in word stay tuned click on the insert tab navigate to page number command and click on it. You then hover your mouse on bottom of page and select your preferred numbering style, instantly the page numbers will appear in the document.When you stroke through the documents you realize that the content, the table of contents, and the cover page have all been numbered in the same manner. But in reality, the table of contents need Roman numbering while the cover doesnamp;#39;t need a number. To fix this issue we will now separate the table of contents section from the main section and make the cover difference. Click to create an insertion at where you want to create the page break and then click on the page layout tab, from the page setup group, click on page breaks command and from the drop down list click on next page we have now separated the table of contents from the

To choose a format or to control the starting number, go to Header Footer Page Number Format Page Numbers. To change the numbering style, select a different style in Number format. To change the starting page number of the newly created section, select Start at, and then enter a number. Select OK.
If you dont want a page number to appear on the first page, select Different First Page. If you want numbering to start with 1 on the second page, go to Page Number Format Page Numbers, and set Start at to 0. When youre done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.
Open a Google Doc. In the top left, click Insert Page number. More options. Under Apply to, choose where you want to apply the page number change. Tip: If you dont find this option, add a section break. Learn how to add a section break. Click Apply.
Go to Header Footer Field. In the Field names list, select Page, and then select OK. Go to Header Footer Page Number Format Page Numbers, select the format you want, and then select OK.
To reset page numbers: Insert Page Number Remove Page Numbers. Do this for each section. To adjust page numbering: Insert Page Number Format Page Numbers. Make sure Start at is set to 1.
Step 3: Change beginning page number With the header open, select page 3 on page 3. Click Page Number in the Header Footer group. Select Format Page Numbers. In the Page Numbering section of the resulting dialog, select the Start At option and enter 1, as shown in Figure G. Click OK.
Tip: If you want your second page to start at 1 rather than 2, go to Insert Page Number Format Page Numbers, and set Start at under Page Numbering to 0, rather than 1.
