thank you Mr chairman Mr row thank you for being here I agree with what you said at the outset that the individual Secret Service agents demonstrated remarkable personal courage putting their bodies in between the line of sight of the shooter and the president that being said The Bravery of the line agents is quite different from the decisions of Secret Service leadership Secret Service leadership committed catastrophic security failures indeed the worst security failures for the for the Secret Service since 1981 since the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan it is incumbent upon this committee to determine why those security failures happened just after the shooting Secret Service put out an official statement from your spokesperson that says thereamp;#39;s an untrue assertion that me a member of the former presidentamp;#39;s team requested additional security resources that those were buffed this is absolutely false in fact we added protective resources and technology

You may indicate the end of a line by means of a slash (/). This is preferable to ending each line with a hard return, as it does not alter the dialogue margins. If one character interrupts another, then end the first characters speech with an M-dash (a space followed by two hyphens), not with a period.
When a copy editor marks up a change, there is no wondering what is intended. A squiggly line under a word ALWAYS means to set that word in bold. Three lines under a word (or letter) ALWAYS means to capitalize.
The slash ( / ) is often incorrectly called a backslash, especially when a Web address is spoken: wmich dot edu slash news, not backslash. A slash is used in text to separate alternatives (good/evil) and to separate lines of poetry (Roses are red / Violets are blue / Its not a backslash / Really?
Proofreading marks, or editing symbols, are universal marks that are hand-written on a piece of writing to indicate errors. Separate proofreading marks exist for errors in punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and formatting making it easier for the writer to identify and later correct the errors.
A caret shows where an additional or corrected or substituted letter, word, or phrase is to be inserted in or above the line. A horizontal line delete mark is made through a phrase, sentence, or paragraph. A vertical line delete mark is made through a single letter or mark of punctuation.
Mark your corrections clearly and neatly in the margins. Indicate the end of each correction with a slash (/). Use multiple slashes if the correction is to be made more than once in the line.
You will have slashes through words (which means please remove) and abbreviations for formatting changes (such as italics and bold). You will encounter odd squiggles (often meaning delete or transpose), and your proofreader may even rewrite whole sentences in your margins.
