To convert text into a shape, right-click on the text layer, and choose “Convert To Shape”. Then select the Direct Selection tool (the white arrow tool) by pressing Shift A and click-and-drag the points in the path to give the characters a new shape.
The simple answer is that by default, Photoshop locks text layers to prevent accidental changes. However, you can unlock a text layer by clicking on the “Lock” icon in the Layers panel. Once unlocked, you can then edit the text just like any other layer.
Edit text in an image To edit text on a type layer, select the type layer in the Layers panel and select the Horizontal or Vertical Type tool in the Tools panel. Make a change to any of the settings in the options bar, such as font or text color. When you're finished editing, click the check mark in the options bar.
Choose Edit > Find And Replace Text. In the Find What box, type or paste the text you want to find. To change the text, type the new text in the Change To text box. Select one or more options to refine your search.
It's possible and practical to make 'handwritten' notes or edits direct on your Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents. Instead of printing them out and using a pen/pencil, do it on-screen with a digital pen. Here's a real-world guide to how you can do it, leaving aside the hype and flashy demos.
To restrict the effect of the adjustment layer to just one layer, right-click on the adjustment layer and select the “Create Clipping Mask” option. NOTE: This will create a clipping mask, which means that the adjustment layer will only affect the layer it's clipped to.
If you want to edit an existing piece of text, simply click on the text with the Type tool and start typing. The changes you make will be applied to the selected text layer.
Go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation. In this window, click the box beside the word “colorize.” From here, you can choose any color and increase the saturation and lightness until you have colored your handwriting. And voila! Here you have an editable photoshop layer for your handwriting.
Use Ctrl + T for Windows or Command+T for Mac to activate Free Transform. This will place a bounding box around the selected layer/object. Hold down your Alt key for Windows or Option key for Mac as you're dragging the handle to reshape the area from its center.
Go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation. In this window, click the box beside the word “colorize.” From here, you can choose any color and increase the saturation and lightness until you have colored your handwriting. And voila! Here you have an editable photoshop layer for your handwriting.
