Since the legend is a text object, you can edit it using methods common to all text objects: To open the Legend dialog box, press Ctrl + double-click on the graph legend text or right-click and choose Properties. To enter in-place edit mode double-click.
Regardless of how you choose to present your data, youll need to give the reader some context about whats in the table or figure if you do use them. This context is called the legend, the short textual information that guides the reader in interpreting what they see.
To change the contents of a legend: Right-click the legend, and then select Legend Contents. The Legend Contents dialog box appears. Select the check box next to each plot that you want to include in the legend. To edit a label, do the following: Specify the order in which plots appear in the legend as follows:
Enter a column title on the data table, and the graph legend will update. You can edit the column titles of the data table, or you can edit the legend directly on the graph.
