were in windows 10 Im going to show you how to edit the index groups in control panel the first thing we need to do is get into control panel and we can do that by right-clicking on our start button and choosing control panel and then make sure were in the large or small icons and out of the category view now once we are in to control panel and click on indexing options and you can see that there are some indexing turned on already but you can modify that by clicking on the modify button so it indexing does is it creates a small database that tells us where all of the files are so when we need to search for anything its much faster at searching than it is with indexing turned off so if we wanted to index our entire see drive for instance we can just go ahead and click on the C Drive and when were done we can just go ahead and click OK we can also click on show all locations in case theres some that arent being shown and in our case its pretty much the same thing so lets go ah

Answer: It is not possible to Alter Index definition to add or remove columns. You need to use CREATE INDEX with the DROP_EXISTING clause to perform these operations. During Comprehensive Database Performance Health Check, as a final step of the consulting engagement, we look at the indexes.
An index uses pointers to actual data to more efficiently access specific pieces of data. Once created, DB2 automatically maintains each index as data is added, modified, and deleted from the table. As data is selected from the table, DB2 can choose to use the index to access the data more efficiently.
Right-click the index that you want to modify and then click Properties. In the Index Properties dialog box, make the desired changes. For example, you can add or remove a column from the index key, or change the setting of an index option.
Right-click the table on which you want to rename an index and select Design. On the Table Designer menu, click Indexes/Keys. Select the index you want to rename in the Selected Primary/Unique Key or Index text box. In the grid, click Name and type a new name into the text box.
DROP AND RECREATE ALL INDEXES built a sript that creates all the indexes. drop all the indexes. load all the data into the tables. create all indexes running the sript 1)
To add a column to an existing index: Issue the ALTER INDEX ADD COLUMN SQL statement when you add a column to a table. Commit the alter procedure.
Use the ALTER INDEX statement to change or rebuild an existing index. The index must be in your own schema or you must have ALTER ANY INDEX system privilege. To execute the MONITORING USAGE clause, the index must be in your own schema.
To edit or format an index entry, change the text inside the quotation marks. To update the index, click the index, and then press F9. Or click Update Index in the Index group on the References tab.
Right-click the index you want to rename and select Rename. Type the index's new name and press Enter.
Re-order columns of table in Oracle Rename the existing table. Drop the primary key constraint. Re-create the table with the correct column order. List item. Run INSERT INTO .. SELECT to move the data from temp to the table in step #3. Drop the temp table.
