How do I change user information in Word?

Important: Changing your name or initials in one Office program will change your name and initials in all of the other Office programs installed on your computer. Click File Options. In the Options dialog box, change your user name and initials in the Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office section.

How do I remove author identification from Word?

If you share a document with other people, you can remove personal information, such as author name and company, that Office automatically adds to a document. On the Word menu, click Preferences. Under Privacy options, select the Remove personal information from this file on save check box. Save the document.

How do you change your name in track changes?

Track Changes labels your changes with the username associated with your version of Word. To change your username on a PC, click the drop-down menu below the Track Changes icon. Then click Change User Name. To change it on a Mac, click Word at the top left, then Preferences.

How do I remove author metadata?

Remove Metadata: If you want to remove all metadata, click on the Additional Metadata button in the Description tab. In the new window, select Advanced from the options on the left. Then click on Remove All at the bottom of the window to delete all metadata.

How do I remove identifying information from Word?

(WINDOWS) Microsoft Word 2010, 2013, 2016: Go to File Select Info Click on Check for issues Click on Inspect document In the Document Inspector dialog box, select the check boxes to choose the types of hidden content that you want to be inspected. Click Remove All Click Close Save the document.

Why is my Word document showing author instead of name?

Re: Authors details are replaced by author @Petri-X This happens whenever anyone runs the Document Inspector and chooses to remove Document Properties and Personal Information. It is not just in Teams or in SharePoint. However, there is no way to recover the names that have been removed.
