Security headers in ASP.NET Core MVC 5 services.AddHsts(options = { options.IncludeSubDomains = true; options.MaxAge = TimeSpan.FromDays(365); }); X-Frame-Options. X-Content-Type-Options. context.Response.Headers.Add(X-Permitted-Cross-Domain-Policies, none);
The AddHeader method adds a new HTTP header and a value to the HTTP response. Note: Once a header has been added, it cannot be removed. Note: In IIS 4.0 you have to call this method before any output is sent to the browser.
Firstly, we use the IApplicationBuilder interface and call the Use method. We then define an anonymous async method, that takes the current HttpContext , and the next Task to execute in the pipeline. Within this anonymous method, we add our custom header to the current response.
Variables are declared using the var keyword, or by using the type (if you want to declare the type), but ASP.NET can usually determine data types automatically.
Adding Custom Header for Individual Response We create a very basic HTTP GET endpoint. Within this endpoint, we access the Response object through the HttpContext object. Then, we add a new header, with the name of x-my-custom-header and a value of individual response .
In Solution Explorer, right-click the project, select Rename, and enter a new name. In Solution Explorer, right-click the project and select Properties. On the Application tab, change the Assembly name and Default namespace.
ASP.NET Core doesnt allow headers to be added after generating the response body. Adding the response header is moved inside the OnStarting action. This action is called just before response headers are sent to the client, which makes it a great place to include custom headers like this.
Add Custom Headers to HTTP Requests Click Indexing Datasources. Click Add+, then Web. Enter a datasource ID and a start link. Click Link discovery. Fill in the Headers to add to HTTP requests field. Fill in any remaining options to configure the datasource. Click Save.
