Header. The Header text is the main body of the quote letter that precedes the quote details. Summary. The Summary text is a 50-character description that is used to label the quote total on the printed quote.
Create different headers or footers Double-click the header or footer. Select Different Odd Even Pages. On one of the odd pages, select the header or footer area you want to change. Type the document title, and then press Tab twice. Select Page Number Current Position and choose a style. Select an even page.
A header is text that is placed at the top of a page, while a footer is placed at the bottom, or foot, of a page. Typically these areas are used for inserting document information, such as the name of the document, the chapter heading, page numbers, creation date and the like.
On the Layout tab, under View, click Page Layout. On the Layout tab, under Page Setup, click Header Footer. Choose from a list of standard headers or footers by going to the Header or Footer pop-up menu, and clicking the header or footer that you want.
Double-click the header or footer you want to edit, or select Header or Footer, and then select Edit Header or Edit Footer. Add or change text for the header or footer or do any of the following: To remove the first page header or footer Select Different First Page.
Go to Layout Page Setup Header Footer. Under Header or Footer, on the pop-up menu, select (none).
Click or tap the page at the beginning of a section. Select Layout Breaks Next Page. Double-click the header or footer on the first page of the new section. Click Link to Previous to turn it off and unlink the header or footer from the previous section.
Change or delete a header or footer on a single page Double-click the first page header or footer area. Check Different First Page to see if its selected. If not: Select Different First Page. Add your new content into the header or footer. Select Close Header and Footer or press Esc to exit.
In most cases, when you cant edit the header or footer, the reason is that the content isnt supported for editing in Word Online. You should be able to download the document to your local drive, though.
Select Insert from the main menu, select Header Footer, and create the header. Then, switch to the Layout option on the main menu, followed by Breaks. Choose Next Page, then tap on the Header Footer section and select Options. Finally, check the box next to the Different Odd Even Pages option.
