It is not possible to make formula field as editable. formula field is a read only field. While not a formula field, you could also create a workflow rule which populates a field only when that field is empty. Set up the workflow to fire whenever the field value is blank.
Editing a Cells Smartsheet Formula To change a formula in a single Smartsheet cell: Locate the formula in question and double-click on the cell that contains it. From here, make any changes to the formula and press enter. If no changes are needed, merely press Esc to exit.
Depending on your Excel settings, you may be able to double-click on the cell in question to enter editing mode. The most efficient way to edit a cell is to hit the F2 key when on the cell. This keeps our hands on the keyboard. You can now move left and right inside the formula using the and symbols.
Basic Formula Editing Step 1 Select the Cell with the Formula. To edit a formula, start by selecting the cell containing the formula you want to modify. Step 2 Enter Edit Mode. Double-click on the selected cell, or press the F2 key to enter the edit mode. Step 3 Make Your Changes. Step 4 Apply the Changes.
Right click, then choose Edit. You will then see the Formula Workshop dialogue box. You can then change the formula. To delete a formula field, go to the Field Explorer panel.
The quickest way to evaluate a formula in Excel is to press CTRL + ~ (tilde). This toggles the display of the current worksheet, allowing you to switch views between cell values and cell formulas.
