You can change your childs name at any time so long as theyre under the age of 16 years. You dont have to have a valid reason, but everyone with parental responsibility must agree to the change.
How much does it cost to change your name? The answer to that depends on the state you live in, but generally, you can expect to pay $100 to $400 in court costs.
In most cases, you must file a petition with your local court to change your name. To do so, you may need to file paperwork and appear before a judge to complete the process. Find your local government website and contact your circuit court to get information about how you can legally change your name.
Additional fees may include background checks, copies of your name change court order, and the cost to publish your name change in a local newspaper. Make sure youre familiar with the process and how much itll cost you before embarking on your name change journey.
The way to do it is to go into AD then click on the user to highlight, then click again to rename the account (this is just like renaming a folder) Once you change the name and hit enter, a dialog box will pop up and you will verify the name change then click OK and you are done. I hope this helps.
The cost for changing your name varies by state. In some states the fee is under $100, but other states may charge up to $500. Keep in mind that you may also have to pay a fee to a newspaper for publication in addition to the court filings. Check your state court website for filing fee details.
