You can do this using a traditional scanner, scanning at a minimum of 300 dots per inch (DPI). Or, if you dont have a scanner, you can use a smartphone to take a picture of the drawing. Whichever method you use, save the image as the highest possible quality and email or AirDrop it to yourself.
There are two main ways to do this - scanning your artwork or photographing it. Since I sell my artwork on large products I need to have the highest quality file possible, so my preferred method for digitizing my artwork is to scan it. I use this Epson scanner and I absolutely love it.
Edit text in an image Edit the style and content of any Type layer. To edit text on a type layer, select the type layer in the Layers panel and select the Horizontal or Vertical Type tool in the Tools panel. Make a change to any of the settings in the options bar, such as font or text color.
The classic way to guard against smudging a drawing is to place a piece of CLEAN paper under your hand whilst you draw. Use plain smooth paper, something like photocopy paper, wax paper, or tracing paper. Avoid creased or heavily textured paper, they dont work.
3. Remove the Mistake with Blades Use an Eraser with a Rough Surface, a Sand Eraser or a Piece of Sandpaper. An eraser or sandpaper can also be used to remove the portions of the top surface of the paper. Creating a Paper Patch Use Digital Tools to Fix Mistakes. Redraw.
Simply glue a piece of paper over it, as Ive done above, and truthfully those pink flowers covering up the mistakes underneath make the page that much more interesting! Be sure to have a glue stick and some pretty paper, or any paper really on hand. Sketchbook Fix Idea #2: Mess up an entire page?
Digitizing Your Sketch in Illustrator Step 1: Bring Your Scanned Image into Illustrator. Step 2: Use the Pen Tool to Outline Drawing. Step 3: Fill in Color. Step 1: Bring Your Scanned Image into Photoshop. Step 2: Adjust Contrast and Levels. Step 3: Add Color to Lines. Step 4: Fill in Rest of Color.
