Modify the macro in the VBA Editor On the Tools tab, select Visual Basic. In the Visual Basic Editor Project Explorer window, open the Project folder and then in the Modules folder, select Recorded and then select the module that has the name of the macro. The recorded macro code is displayed in the code window.
The CODE Function[1] is categorized under Excel Text functions. It returns a numeric code for the first character in a given text string. The returned code corresponds to the character set used by the computer.
If you click on the module in the Project Explorer, the name should appear in the properties window (below). It should say (name) Module1. You can just click on the name there and edit it. Save this answer.
If you do make a mistake while recording a macro, dont worryyou can always delete the existing macro and try again or edit the macros Visual Basic source code to fix the mistake.
On the Developer tab, in the Code group, click Macros. In the Macro name box, click the macro that you want to edit. Click Edit.
Macro Recorder recordings consist of individual action steps in chronological order, that can be edited in the main program window. To edit an action, double-click the action in the list, or click the action and press ENTER or click the pencil icon in the main menu.
You can use the Macro dialog to open the code for a macro by selecting the macros name and clicking the Edit button. This will open the macro in the VB Editor. Alternatively, you can open the VB Editor directly by clicking the Visual Basic button on the Developer tab, or by pressing the ALT+F11 keyboard shortcut.
After you save a recorded macro, you can edit it in the Visual Basic editor to add functionality and make it easier to maintain.
Hold the Alt key, and press the F11 key, to open the Visual Basic Editor. In the Project Explorer, find your workbook, and open the list of Microsoft Excel Objects. Right-click on the ThisWorkbook object, and choose View Code. Where the cursor is flashing, choose Edit | Paste.
VBA code for Excel can only be written inside Excel using the VBA IDE. VBA projects are stored as part of the Excel file and cannot be loaded into Visual Studio. However, you can write VSTO (Visual Studio Tools for Office) managed add-ins for Excel using Visual Studio.
