Click one of the toolbars shapes to turn your cursor into a crosshair. Click inside your document, hold down your left mouse button and drag the cursor down towards the right to draw your shape. Release the mouse button when the shape docHubes the size you desire.
When you select an image, the Picture toolbar will appear. Just click on the crop button (scissors icon on my system) then move the handles around the image to adjust the cropping. Just FYI: The cropping does not modify the image; it only changes what part of the image is visible.
