To insert a checkbox in Microsoft Word, enable developer mode by going to File, Options, Customizing buttons, and checking Developer. Once in developer mode, click the checkbox icon to insert one. To add a checkmark symbol, go to Developer, Properties, and select a symbol like a smiley face. Highlight the checkbox, go to properties, select the symbol, and click OK.

Besides the traditional tick ✔, other variations on the check mark include the cross ✘, the slash /, and the check box ☑.
Insert a check mark symbol In your file, place the cursor where you want to insert the symbol. Open the Symbol dialog box: In the Font box, select Wingdings. In the Character code box at the bottom, enter: 252. Select the check mark you want. Once the check mark has been inserted, you may change its size or color.
Does Microsoft Windows have a PDF editor? A built-in PDF editor does not come integrated with Microsoft Windows. However, you can use Microsoft Word to make edits to PDFs. However be aware that using Word for PDF editing has some limitations, and it may only handle some basic editing tasks smoothly.
Highlight. PDF reader in Microsoft Edge comes with support for adding and editing highlights. To create a highlight, the user simply needs to select the text, right-click on it, select highlights in the menu and choose the desired color. Highlights can also be created using a pen, or keyboard.
Open the PDF in Microsoft Edge. Select Edit in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Select the blank fields you want to edit and type in your text. Save the edited PDF by selecting Save in the top toolbar.
