so before we go into actually inputting some data here I do want to review some of the settings so to access the settings in Excel we can either choose Excel and then hit preferences or you can see here that it gives us a shortcut indication saying that if we hit command comma together then that will also bring up the preferences without having to use our Mouse go all the way up to the corner and select it we can simply hit command comma together and itamp;#39;ll bring up Excel preferences okay so a few different things I would often recommend uh for your settings in Excel is uh first of all going to the general uh selection here so most of the time the start screen that we looked at when starting is an unnecessary step to get to the Excel screen it just takes a little bit longer to open Excel if you have this checked on so I like to disable it so to disable the start screen in in the general tab which weamp;#39;re in right now just unselect show workbook Gallery when opening Excel h

Select cells in a pivot table to create a pivot chart Select a cell (such as a Total or Grand Total cell) that includes the values you want to plot. Click. ; click 2D, 3D, or Interactive; then click a chart. Click the left and right arrows to see more style options.
You can change the format of individual chart elements, such as the chart area, plot area, data series, axes, titles, data labels, or legend. Two sets of tools are available for formatting chart elements: the Format task pane and the Chart Tools Ribbon. For the most control, use the options in the Format task pane.
To add elements to your chart, such as a title and data labels, select the chart. The Chart Elements, Chart Styles, and Chart Filter buttons appear next to the chart. Click the Chart Elements button and check or uncheck the elements you want to add or remove, such as Chart Title.
On the Format tab, do one of the following: In the Current Selection group, click Format Selection, and then in the Format dialog box, select the formatting options that you want. In the Shape Styles group, click the More button , and then select a style.
You can also edit titles and labels that are independent of your worksheet data, do so directly on the chart and use rich-text formatting to make them look better. Note that you can edit titles and data labels that are linked to worksheet data in the corresponding worksheet cells.
Click the chart that you want to format. This displays the Chart Tools, adding the Design, Layout, and Format tabs. On the Design tab, in the Chart Styles group, click the chart style that you want to use. Tip: To see all predefined chart styles, click More .
Changes you make will instantly show up in the chart. Right-click the item you want to change and input the data--or type a new heading--and press Enter to display it in the chart. To hide a category in the chart, right-click the chart and choose Select Data.
Edit or rearrange a series Right-click your chart, and then choose Select Data. In the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the series you want to change. Click Edit, make your changes, and click OK. To rearrange a series, select it, and then click Move Up or Move Down .
