Calculated fields let you create new metrics and dimensions that are derived from your data. Calculated fields let you extend and transform the information that flows from your data sources and see the results in reports.
To edit a field definition in a report, follow these steps: Create or edit your report. Add a new chart or select an existing chart. In the Setup tab of the Properties panel, click a fields data type icon to open the fields edit menu.
Limits of data source calculated fields You cant use a data source calculated field with blended data. You must have edit rights to the data source to create or edit calculated fields there. You cannot apply custom value formatting when you create or edit a calculate field in a data source.
Click the PivotTable. On the Analyze tab, in the Calculations group, click Fields, Items, Sets, and then click Calculated Field. In the Name box, select the calculated field for which you want to change the formula. In the Formula box, edit the formula. Click Modify.
To change the field type, use the Type drop-down menu in the data source edit page. If the field editing in reports option is enabled for the data source, you can also change field types directly in reports based on this data source.
Edit a calculated field in your data source Calculated fields appear in the data source with an fx symbol. To edit the formula, click fx next to the field name. This opens the formula editor, where you can adjust the field as needed.
To permanently delete a calculated field, follow these steps: Edit the data source. To the right of the field that you want to delete, click More . Click Remove.
