Change an existing formula Double-click the result cell with the formula you want to edit. The formula editor opens, displaying the formula. Do any of the following: Change the cell references: Select the existing cell addresses you want to change, then select the new cells. Press Return or click.
To get the sum or the difference of two or more values, simply type in the cell name or location then choose either the addition (+) or subtraction (-) function from the formula bar. Hit Enter or click the green check mark on the rightmost side of the formula bar to get the sum or difference.
You can include mathematical expressions and equations in your document. To add an equation, you compose it in the Pages equation dialog using LaTeX commands or MathML elements, then insert it into your document.
Enter the Sum function on Mac Step 2: Type the equal sign (=) and youll see the formula box appear. Step 3: Enter Sum into the box and then pick it from the options that display. Step 4: You can either type the cell range you want to add or select Value in the formula and then drag through the cells.
You can enter number values in formulas to make calculations, just as you would in a calculator. Click a blank cell where you want to add your formula, then type the equal sign (=) to open the Formula Editor. Type the equation you want to calculate, using values and arithmetic operators (for example, +,-,*, and /).
Create your own formula Click the cell where you want the formula result to appear, then enter the equal sign (=). The formula editor opens. Enter a left parenthesis ( to begin your formula. Select a cell to use as the first argument in your formula, or enter a value (for example, a number such as 0 or 5.20).
Change an existing formula Double-click the result cell with the formula you want to edit. The formula editor opens, displaying the formula. Drag the left side of the formula editor to move it.
To use autofill mode, select the cell whose formula or data you want to apply to other cells, then press Command-\. VoiceOver indicates when you turn on autofill mode.
Tap the cell with the formula you want to copy, tap it again, then tap Copy in the contextual menu. Tap the cell where you want to paste the formula or the result, tap it again, then tap Paste. To preserve the formula, tap Paste Formulas, or to paste only the result, tap Paste Values.
On the Analyze tab, in the Calculations group, click Fields, Items, Sets, and then click Calculated Field. In the Name box, select the calculated field for which you want to change the formula. In the Formula box, edit the formula. Click Modify.
