The list of users that have access to the item and the operations that they can perform on the item is called an access control list (ACL). An ACL is used at run time to determine what CRUD operations a user can execute on a particular item or item type.
To add or remove access control list (ACL) entries from a file or directory, get the FileSecurity or DirectorySecurity object from the file or directory. Modify the object, and then apply it back to the file or directory.
A custom ACL denies all inbound and outbound traffic (rule *) unless it is configured with rules. Once you have created the rules for a custom ACL and associated the ACL with particular subnets, any inbound or outbound traffic is evaluated based on the rules mentioned in the ACL.
To display the ACL associated with a file, directory or symbolic link, issue the fs listacl command. The output for a symbolic link displays the ACL that applies to its target file or directory, rather than the ACL on the directory that houses the symbolic link.
In computer security, an access-control list (ACL) is a list of permissions associated with a system resource (object or facility). An ACL specifies which users or system processes are granted access to resources, as well as what operations are allowed on given resources.
Access Control List (ACL) rules allow an admin to limit the permissions of users. For example, you can use ACL rules to authorize the users to access menus, controllers, API endpoints and conditionally render layout blocks.
An access control list (ACL) is made up of rules that either allow access to a computer environment or deny it. In a way, an access control list is like a guest list at an exclusive club.
Specify the user or group you want to apply the permission to. Type: Select [Allow] or [Deny] to grant or deny the permission to the user or group. Apply To: This option will only appear when adding permissions to a folder. Apply these permissions to objects and/or containers within the container only:
