There are four mandatory fields Created On, Opportunity Name, Owner and Status. These fields cannot be deleted.
The Amount field is essential as it is used as the roll-up field on the Forecast object to calculate Revenue. On the Opportunity I know the amount is calculated based off the total price of all the products. Unless there are no Products in which case the Amount field can be edited.
The fields for opportunities contain a range of information to help you track your pending and potential sales. Depending on your page layout and field-level security settings, some fields arent visible or editable. Opportunity Product Fields.
The Expected Revenue field is an opportunitys Opportunity Value field multiplied by its Probability. For example, if the Opportunity Value is $10,000 and the probability of winning that opportunity is 50%, then the Expected Revenue is $5,000.
You cannot directly edit the amount unless the Opportunity has no Products. To change the amount for an Opportunity that contains Products, edit the Sales Price or Quantity of the related Products.
Add or change an Opportunity stage in Lightning Experience Navigate to Setup. Click Object Manager | Opportunity | Fields Relationships. Click the Stage field name. Click New to add a new stage under Opportunity Stage Picklist Values. For new Opportunity stage values, select the Sales Process to be associated.
For opportunities with products, the amount is the sum of the related products. You cant directly edit the amount unless the opportunity has no products. To change the amount for an opportunity that contains products, edit the sales price or quantity of the related products.
Navigate to Setup | Customize | Opportunity | Page Layouts. Click Edit on the layout you want to edit. Double-click the Products related list and set your fields and order. Click Save on both the pop-up window and the Page Layout edit window.
