Revit has two kinds of lines for us to use: model lines and detail lines. A model line, found over on the architecture tab, is kind of like youre using a Sharpie and drawing on something in the real world. Its visible in any view that the Sharpie line is visible. So if I activate model line and Ive got my line selected and im going to draw my line from here all the way down here, notice it shows up in this other view as well because its a model line and its a model element. Over on the annotate tab Ive got my detail lines they work exactly the same way. They function by the exact same line styles, but if I draw a line using detail line, that line does not show up in any other view. It is annotation and its view specific. Sometimes you might be drafting along and youre chugging and everything is going great until you realize that you used the wrong line type. Fortunately theres an easy fix.
