Hello. In this video, I will show you how to send personalized PDF documents with awatermark holding the clients name using mail merge in microsoft word. Although Microsoft has arobust watermarking feature,it does not support merge fields. That is whywe will go in two steps. Use analternative watermarking method and convert the document to PDF with the help of Mail Merge Toolkit. First, we will need a couple of things. A Word template document. A data source. We will use a basic Excel spreadsheet. And an idea for a watermark. Okay. Here is our template document open in Word. First, to start the mail merge we need to connect our data source. We open the Mailings tab, click Select Recipients, Use an Existing List and choose our Excel spreadsheet with the recipients data. Now we can personalize the document by adding merge fields, that later will be replaced with the appropriate data. Since Microsoft Word native watermark option does not support merge fields, we will use text box

Multiple Line Watermark: Add a newline character (\n) to the watermark text to create a multi-line watermark.
Insert a picture watermark On the Design tab, select Watermark. Select Custom Watermark, and then choose Picture Watermark. Click Select Picture. Find a picture of your own, or search Bing images. Choose the picture you want, and select Insert.
If inserting a watermark on some pages causes it to disappear on others, try using a custom watermark to put the watermark on all pages. Tip: If you already have a watermark, remove it, or youll have two on the same page. Go to Design Watermark Custom Watermark.
Method 3: Insert Different Watermarks on Specific Pages Here we will take the example of inserting different watermarks on page 2 and 3. Firstly, insert watermarks into all pages of the document. Next put cursor at the start of page 2 and click Page layout. Then click Breaks and choose Continuous.
On the Page Layout tab, select Watermark Custom Watermark. Choose Picture Watermark and select a picture, or choose Text watermark and type your watermark text in the Text box. Click OK.
Watermarks are in the graphics layer and usually attached to the header/footer. It is not possible to copy both the main text and the watermark in the same process. You can only copy one layer at a time.
Display a watermark for multiple columns Select the watermark and using the selection handles, resize the shape if necessary (Figure E). With the watermark selected, press [Ctrl]+C and [Ctrl]+V to add a second watermark. Select and position each separately (Figure F). Save the document.
On the Layout tab, under Page Background, select Watermark. Choose Text. Type or edit your text for the watermark, or select a text watermark from the drop down menu, and then select the text formatting that you want. Tips:
Select where you want the watermark to be on the page. Select Design Watermark right-click the watermark you want, and select Insert at Current Document Position.
Press Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+X to cut, or Ctrl+V to paste the text or picture (Windows); or press ⌘+C, ⌘+X, or ⌘+V (Mac).
