Justin Jones, Vice Chairman of the merger committee, outlines the next steps for the proposed merger with Frontier Airlines. The merger will be reviewed by the Department of Transportation and the Department of Justice, and requires shareholder approval from both companies. A joint negotiating committee will define the separate operations of the carriers, negotiate costs incurred by pilot groups during the merger, and establish an integrated seniority list (ISL). Following these negotiations, the committee will work on the Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA), which, once approved by both Frontier and Spirit MECs, will be sent to the pilot group for ratification. Only after the JCBA is ratified will the merger committees begin negotiating the ISL.
