This text addresses concerns related to Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders, emphasizing that it is illegal for doctors or hospitals to force a DNR on patients or their families without consent. DNR, also known as Do Not Attempt Resuscitation (DNAR), instructs medical staff not to revive a patient if their heart or breathing stops. The piece highlights that many families report feeling pressured by hospital staff to agree to DNR orders, despite their objections. Examples include families stating they’ve repeatedly refused or that their loved one would never consent, yet they continue to face persistent requests from healthcare providers.
