And right now Im going to talk to you about how to perform a merge request in GitLab and show you how to merge a couple of branches together using the GitLab admin console. And not just merge those branches together, but after youve done the merge, show you how to go to your local workstation and bring the results of those merge onto your local machine. All things start by logging in to the GitLab administrative console, which Im doing right here. And Im gonna go into the GitLab made easy project and dig right into the repository and specifically look at the different branches that Ive got because Ive put together this fun feature branch and this fun feature branch has got this amazing file in it called feature file.HTML, but none of the other branches have it. Merging a pull request Under your repository name, click Pull requests. In the Pull Requests list, click the pull request youd like to merge. Depending on the merge options enabled for your repository, you can: If prompted, type a commit message, or accept the default message.

A Git pull request is essentially the same as a Git merge request. Both requests achieve the same result: merging a developers branch with the projects master or main branch. Their difference lies in which site they are used; GitHub uses the Git pull request, and GitLab uses the Git merge request.
How to Checkout Git Pull Request Step 1: Get the Pull Request Number. First, get the pull request number from the Pull request details. Step 2: Fetch origin With Pull Request number. Step 3: Checkout the Pull Request Local Branch.
A merge request (MR) is a request from someone to merge in code from one branch to another. You can create a MR from Assembla by clicking on New Merge Request, which is in almost all of git sub-tabs. Youll be asked to select a From branch and a To branch.
When the pipeline succeeds, the merge request is automatically merged. When the pipeline fails, the author gets a chance to retry any failed jobs, or to push new commits to fix the failure. When the jobs are retried and succeed on the second try, the merge request is automatically merged.
Go to Pull requests add filter `is:closed` choose PR you want to reopen. Select from checkbox and mark as Open.
