The different kinds of section breaks include next page, continuous, even page, and odd page breaks.
If you added section breaks to your document, the easiest way to see where they begin and end is to show formatting marks. Go to Home, and select Show all nonprinting characters. Select the section break and then press Delete.
There are four different types of section breaks that you can insert. They are Next Page, Continuous, Odd Page, and Even Page. A Next Page section break inserts a page break, but also creates two separate sections of the document so that each section can have its own unique page layout.
Scroll down until you see the Page Layout options (Compatibility Options in Word 2019 and Word in Office 365). It is at the very bottom of the dialog box; you may need to click the arrow at the left side of the options to see them all. Make sure the Split Apart Page Break and Paragraph Mark check box is selected.
How to remove a section break in Word Select the Home tab if it isnt already selected for the document. Select Show/Hide to show the section breaks in your document. Click the area just before the section break you want to remove, then hit the Delete key.
To merge multiple Word documents, navigate to Insert. Under the Text section, click on the dropdown from Object and select Text from File. Now, navigate to the file location and by holding the Ctrl key on your keyboard, select multiple documents. Click on Insert.
The other way to get rid of the section breaks is to create Form Letters (by choosing that option), and then use Find and Replace to remove the section breaks in the final document.
Insert a section break Select where you want a new section to begin. Go to Page Layout Breaks. Section break that you want to add: A Next Page section break starts the new section on the next page. A Continuous section break starts the new section on the same page.
