KASIA DERC-FENSKE: Hi. My names Kasia, from the Google Enterprise Geo Support Team in Europe. Weve prepared a series of videos for you to help you get started with Maps API for Business. This video will cover the process of creating digital signatures. Lets assume we were to build a car sharing solution. Theyll use self-driving cars that can pick you up at any given location. The cars will send us a lat/long par, and well need to convert it to a human readable address. Well be using the reverse geocoding web service for that. Lets open up the documentation. Ill use my bookmarks to navigate to the Google Maps API web services, and then to the Geocoding API section. Then Ill choose reverse geocoding, and copy the sample URL. Now Ill set the sensor parameter to false, because my browser isnt geo enabled. And we get the result. It geocoded the lat/long par to Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn. But if you make such a request, we wont know that youre a Maps API for Business customers.

To create a valid contract, its generally best for a document to be produced in writing, and this is necessary for contract law for some agreements, such as those involving the sale of real estate. It should then be signed by each relevant party as a symbol of their acceptance of the terms of the contract.
What is a signature? Blacks Law Dictionary defines signature as (1) a persons name or mark written by that person or at the persons direction, or (2) any name, mark, or writing used with the intention of authenticating a document.
Regardless of what the signature looks likewhether its written neatly, scribbled, or typedits proof that conditions have been considered and accepted. As long as a signature is representative of who a person is and their intent, any kind of mark is considered legal.
While typing your name can count as a legal signature, a business needs to have a way to prove that the individual who typed their name actually signed the document. The ability to defend against repudiation is critical.
How to Properly Sign a Contract So It Will Be Enforceable Make Sure the Contract Youre Signing Is the Contract You Agreed to Sign. Date the Contract. Make Sure Both Parties Sign the Contract. Make Sure Any Last Minute Changes to the Contract Are Initialed. The Parties Must Sign the Contract in Their Correct Capacity.
Handwritten contracts are legally binding if they meet the necessary conditions that apply to all contracts: mutual agreement, capacity, consideration, and legal validity. There are no legal differences between typed and handwritten agreements when it comes to enforceability.
Yes, a contract does need to be signed to become a valid contract. There are occasional cases where oral contracts or unsigned contracts may still comply with contract law, but those are risky.
(d) Signatures. The original of each document must be signed by the participant or its authorized representative, or by an attorney having authority with respect to it. The document must state the capacity of the person signing; his or her address, phone number, and e-mail address; and the date of signature.
While typing your name can count as a legal signature, a business needs to have a way to prove that the individual who typed their name actually signed the document. The ability to defend against repudiation is critical.
Essentially, your signature means that you have read the agreement, agree to its terms and conditions, intend to enter into the agreement, and are legally authorized and mentally competent to do so.
