A memorandum of understanding, or MOU, is a nonbinding agreement that states each partys intentions to take action, conduct a business transaction, or form a new partnership. This type of agreement may also be referred to as a letter of intent (LOI) or memorandum of agreement (MOA).
To proceed with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the PPO must Submit a Formal Request.Once IES approves the Formal Request, then the PPO submits the following three documents: Signed MOU Document. Memorandum of Agreement (MOA): An MOA is a document written between parties to cooperatively work together on an agreed upon project or meet an agreed upon objective. The purpose of an MOA is to have a written formal understanding of the agreement between parties.
Who Writes the Agreement or MOU? Either party can draft a letter agreement or MOU. The job usually goes to the side that is asking to have the agreement in writing, or the one who most wants to dictate the terms of the agreement, or the side that is making an offer.
