Each record in the Salesforce.com system has a unique ID field assigned to it which is known as Record ID. It is system generated and cannot be edited or deleted. It is generated every time a new record is inserted into the application.
We can recalculate the formula field in a bulk of records (List) for a SObject. Then, the new values of the formula field stored in SObject override the previous values of that field in Salesforce.
If you create a record via an API (e.g. Apex code) without a name value provided, Salesforce automatically uses the new ID of the record for its name.
