A general arrangement drawing (GA drawing) is a contract document, which records information needed to understand the general arrangement structural elements on a project. A GA drawing is created in BIM workflows from one or more model views, with associated schedules and on a project title sheet.
Definition: docHub information that does not belong in any other element. Purpose: Provides a place to capture information docHub to the public that is not appropriate for any other element.
What are general arrangement drawings? General arrangement drawings (GAs) present the overall composition of an object such as a building. This is as opposed to more detailed drawings such as component drawings or assembly drawings that might only show a particular aspect or part of the object.
Structural notes provide information regarding general material properties (steel or wood grade, concrete strength, etc) or construction requirements (soil compaction, weld procedures, etc). The structural notes also provide information about design criteria (gravity , seismic, and wind loading).
Standard Notes, otherwise known as General Notes, are usually located either above the title block or in the upper left corner of the drawing. Standard notes cover many things. The notes below are a small subset of the things that standard notes can cover.
