This tutorial demonstrates how to password protect files and folders in Windows using the built-in feature. This feature is not available in Windows Home Edition. To protect a file, open File Explorer, locate the file, right-click and select Properties, go to the Advanced tab, check the box for encrypt contents to secure data, and apply the changes. A lock icon will indicate that the file is protected with your Windows admin password. Similarly, you can encrypt a folder containing important files.
