HTML/CSS Make DIV Element readonly With CSS CSS user-select property. In order to do this in CSS, we will need to use user-select: none that prevents text selection of a element, the CSS code looks in this way. Example. Below is the code example that demonstrates how to use user-select property.
The readonly attribute makes a form control non-editable (or read only). A read-only field cant be modified, but, unlike disabled , you can tab into it, highlight it, and copy its contents. Setting the value to null does not remove the effects of the attribute.
The disabled attribute can be set to keep a user from using the drop-down list until some other condition has been met (like selecting a checkbox, etc.). Then, a JavaScript can remove the disabled value, and make the drop-down list usable.
jQuery(document). ready(function($) { var $dropDown = $(#my-select) , name = $dropDown. prop(name) , $form = $dropDown. parent(form); $dropDown. data(original-name,name); //store the name in the data attribute. $(#toggle). on(click, function(event) { if($dropDown. is(.disabled)){
Solution 1 To disable an option you can use which prevents it from being selected.
The disabled attribute can be set to keep a user from using the drop-down list until some other condition has been met (like selecting a checkbox, etc.). Then, a JavaScript can remove the disabled value, and make the drop-down list usable.
ing to HTML specs, the select tag in HTML doesnt have a readonly attribute, only a disabled attribute. So if you want to keep the user from changing the dropdown, you have to use disabled .
You need to add a disabled property to the form dropdown class. I have attached the screenshot below that explains how to add the property. By doing this you wont be able to see the options inside the drop-down menu.
The Boolean readonly attribute, when present, makes the element not mutable, meaning the user can not edit the control.
TextBox. Enabled = false; DropDownList. Enabled = false; but, after that css class not call in this both control at run-time.
