However, the video shows two free methods. The first is by using DocHub reader's online password protect feature. You can search for it on Google and follow the link provided in the video description. Once on the page, you can drag and drop your file to password protect it.

How to lock your Windows files and folders Find the folder or file you want to encrypt in Windows File Explorer. Right-click on the item and select Properties. Click Advanced to open up the Advanced Attributes settings. Check the box for Encrypt contents to secure data.
One-click option to protect a PDF with a password Open the PDF in Acrobat. Choose File Protect Using Password. Alternatively, you can choose Tools Protect Protect Using Password. Select if you want to set the password for Viewing or Editing the PDF. Type and retype your password. Click Apply.
How to Edit Password Protected PDFs When You Dont Know the Password (2 Methods) Open the PDF that you want to edit. Press Print or [ctrl] + [p] on your keyboard. Set the Printer to Microsoft Print to PDF, then press Ok. Open the new PDF in PDF Pro. Perform your edits. Save the changes.
Although Windows 10 doesnt have the option to protect folders and files with a password, it doesnt mean your data isnt secure. One of the reasons why you cant apply a password to a folder is that your account is already protected from unauthorized access with a password (and even encryption if you use BitLocker).
To password-protect your PDF documents, you will need docHub Reader Pro or docHub. The free version of docHub Reader does not have the necessary features to encrypt a PDF document.
Add a password to docHub (pdf) Open the PDF and choose Tools Protect Encrypt Encrypt with Password. If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security. Select Require a Password to Open the Document, then type the password in the corresponding field.
How to password protect a PDF on Windows. Windows users have many ways to encrypt or password protect PDFs for free. If your computer comes with a Microsoft Office license, you can do it in two steps. First, open the document, click on the Info tab, Protect Document, and then Encrypt with Password.
Protect a document with a password Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Type a password, then type it again to confirm it. Save the file to make sure the password takes effect.
