ROGER BOWLEY: Im going to be talking about logarithms, logarithms to the base 10. So for example, if I have a number, which is 100, I can think of that as 10 squared, or 10 to the power 2. So 2 is the logarithm of this number, 100, to the base 10. 1,000 is 10 to the 3. This is the logarithm, the 3, and it corresponds to the number of 0s there. It is logarithm of 1,000 equals 3. I can do 10 to another number. So for example, 10 to the 1.6232 turns out to be 42. That means that if I were to take 10, that means that the log to the base 10 of 42 is 1.6232 to four docHub figures. The reason its useful is multiplication. If I have two numbers and I want to multiply them together, its easy to make mistakes, because there are a lot of little operations that have to be added up. If you go through logarithms and you get a logarithm of a number, such as 42, and you multiply it with another number, such as 37, or 59, or 200, you get the logarithm of that number, and you add these numbers

Go to Application Insights resource in your resource group. Go to Logs under Monitoring section. Click on traces eye button to get log traces. Select Time Range and click Run.
Use the Log Analytics workspaces menu to create a workspace. In the Azure portal, enter Log Analytics in the search box. Select Add. Select a Subscription from the dropdown. Use an existing Resource Group or create a new one. Provide a name for the new Log Analytics workspace, such as DefaultLAWorkspace.
Click anywhere in the new query to select it, and then select the Run button to run it. To view the results in a graph, select Chart on the results pane. Notice that there are various options for working with the chart, such as changing it to another type.
Sign in to the Azure portal. Select Azure Active Directory, and then select Logs from the Monitoring section to open your Log Analytics workspace. The workspace will open with a default query.
The diagnostics logs are saved in a blob container named $logs in your storage account. You can view the log data using a storage explorer like the Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer, or programmatically using the storage client library or PowerShell.
The full set of available retention periods is 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, 270, 365, 550, or 730 days.
Logs in Azure Monitor are stored in a Log Analytics workspace thats based on Azure Data Explorer, which provides a powerful analysis engine and rich query language.
