hello everyone welcome to my channel excel sessions and today we will learn how to highlight cells if the cell data is available in a given list in this example we have a master list of items in column a and in column d we have another list now to highlight the cells in column d that contains item which is available in column a we will use conditional formatting so select the list of items in column d now go to home and under conditional formatting select new rule option in new formatting rule dialog select the last rule type and in the text box type equals to countif open bracket now select the master list items comma select the first item in the list and press f4 twice to convert into relative reference closing bracket greater than zero now click on format button select fill tab and select any color to highlight the cells click ok button click ok button now these cells that contains value which are available in the master list are highlighted so in this way you can quickly highlight
