[Music] hello this is greg from sharepointmaven and in todays video i would like to show you how you can add comments to an item in a microsoft list now we could add comments to documents for quite some time let me demonstrate that to you really quick so here is a document on one of my team sites and lets say i want to add a comment we can do it in the browser we can do it on the native app i open this document in the browser here we go and i can you know i can um you know add a comment right here so here we go perfect all right so um heres a comment added to the document uh now we can now do the same in a list as well quite easy to do let me show you how to do that uh let me navigate back so heres my project list there are a couple of ways for you to add comments you can either hover over the uh item where you want to add comments and you can click on this little comment icon over here or you can just literally just open this up um you know the the item itself and then click that

SharePoint alerts can be configured to send an email or SMS when any documents or items on a SharePoint site have been changed. There are many use cases and business scenarios where you can use SharePoint alerts.
To help you manage changes, well notify you in special cases, such as when: You or someone you work with created a rule for a list or a library in Microsoft Lists, SharePoint, or Teams, and set it up to notify you when things change. If you have permission, you can edit rules or delete rules.
Once turned on, youll receive notifications with information about changes to events on a calendar or list items in a task list. You can also determine the delivery method, so that alerts appear in your e-mail inbox or text messages sent to your phone.
Go to your SharePoint list Click on the settings gear icon Select List settings. On the List Settings page, click on the Advanced link. Under the Comments section, set the Allow comments on list items? to Yes or No ing to your requirement.
Comments are stored in the schema for each list, which is based on the SharePoint storage platform.
Open Microsoft Power Automate page and go to My Flows New Automated - from blank. Select the trigger that starts the flow. Search for SharePoint, and you will see all triggers related to SharePoint events. Select When an item is created trigger and click Create.
Users can submit comments on a SharePoint modern page but there is no option for users site owners and submitter to delete or modify the comment. Page owner can delete this by going to page details and select the three dots to delete all comments on the page as shown in the picture.
To add a comment, select a task to bring up its details, and then use the Comments box to discuss things with your team. Click Send when youre ready to post the comment. Important: Once you post a comment, you cant delete or edit it.
Get alerts on all changes in a document library in SharePoint Go to the list or library and make sure no items are selected. From the list of options for the list or library, select the (ellipses), and then select Alert Me. In the Alert me when items change dialog, change or fill in the options you want. Select OK.
