But there is a new feature that will allow you to do the same thing if youre in Page Layout mode. Let me show you how to setup each kind of link. Heres a typical word processing document. Theres lots of text here and Ive got it divided into chapters. I have some page breaks and a Table of Contents that I have inserted that will create page links all on its own to each chapter. But what if I wanted to add some other links. Like, for instance, after the Table of Contents maybe I want to include a list of links to poems in the text here in this book. To link text boxes select the first, click the Create Link tool on the Shape Format tab then click the next text box.

Click the text box that you want to be first in the thread, then click the white circle at the top. The circle fills with color and the number 1 to indicate its the start of a thread. Control-click an object, text box or selected text you want to turn into a link, choose Add Link, then choose a destination (Webpage, Email, Phone Number, Page or Bookmark). Specify details for the destination: Web page: Opens a web page in a browser. In the Display field, enter the text you want readers to see.
