Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) - Annual, Interim, and Final. Annual RPPR - Use to describe a grants scientific progress, identify docHub changes, report on personnel, and describe plans for the subsequent budget period or year.
Do you need to submit a RPPR (progress report ) during a no cost extension year under a NIH grant award? No, NIH does not require an RPPR is during a no-cost extension.
All progress reports for NIH grants must be submitted electronically using the Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) module in eRA Commons (See OERs RPPR webpage for details). Progress reports document the grantee recipients accomplishments and compliance with terms of award.

The signing official (SO) can submit when the SO is the current reviewer of the report; current reviewers are set by routing, as described in Routing the RPPR. For SNAP awards only, PD/PIs may also submit the report if they have been delegated submit authority by the SO.
The Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) is the progress report form used by grantees to submit progress reports to NIH. The RPPR documents grantee/recipient accomplishments and compliance with the terms of the award.
