How do I get a copy of my Missouri vehicle registration online? Simply, download the Application for Duplicate Title/Registration Receipt (Form 2519) from the Missouri Department of Revenue website or go into any Missouri license office to pick up the form.
When you apply for a title, you must submit a bill of sale or Notice of Sale (Form 5049) for the vehicle that you sold and the purchase (or contract to purchase) and sale dates must be within 180 days of one another. You do not have to purchase a like vehicle to qualify for a sales tax allowance.
If a person buys a vehicle without putting it in their name and then sells it, it is known as title jumping. This illegal act is also referred to as title skipping or floating. When there is a jumped title issue, the new buyer cannot register the car in their name with the DMV.
The average turnaround time for a mail-in title application to be processed is 4-6 weeks. NOTE: You should keep the original docHubd lien release (or a copy) for your personal records. The copy that is submitted with your application will not be returned to you.
The sale is not valid without a properly assigned title. If the title has been mutilated or otherwise ruined, the owner of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title in order for the sale to proceed. If your title has been lost, mutilated, or destroyed, you may apply for a duplicate title.
To apply for a duplicate title, you must submit: An Application for Missouri Title and License (Form 108) Document, completed in full and signed, including the following: If applicable, a docHubd Lien Release (Form 4809) is required. Submit an $8.50 duplicate title fee and a $6 processing fee.
Please send your inquiry with information about the vehicle (Vehicle Identification Number, owner name, and owner address) to MVBCallbacks@dor.mo.gov.
Visit your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or Secretary of States (SOS) website. These institutions typically allow for people to complete a duplicate title form or title replacement form online to get a replacement if it was lost, stolen, or damaged.
