you so today Ive just like to give you a brief introduction an overview of 1801 UPF in the 30 minutes we have I cant really go into too much details but Id like to give you a bit of an insight behind so the methodologies and concepts behind UPF before then going on to talk about successive refinement in something that as a particular interest to us as IP providers and then Ill wrap up with a little our roadmap of where we hope to go in the next couple of years so what is UPF it stands a unified power format and it basically describes the power intent that you dont have in your design languages such as paralog and VHDL its based upon tickle you can mix it with regular tickle so you can build up more complicated and structures and you use it for both verification and implementation its an evolving standard we started on this in about 2006 and it came out under xor first in 2007 thats known as UPF 1.0 then it was donated to the I Triple E and in 2009 we came out with the first ey

Unified Power Format (UPF) is the popular name of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standard for specifying power intent in power optimization of electronic design automation.
UPF outlines design power intent, specifying control signals, routing, block configuration, and more. Its backbone is the scripting language — Tool Control Language (TCL) — which enables automation for design software, providing specific recommendations to meet low-power standards.
Abstract: Unified Power Format (UPF) is an industry wide power format specification to implement low power techniques in a design flow. UPF is designed to reflect the power intent of a design at a relatively high level.
The power/supply sets state of the power objects are the entry values in the power state table. In UPF 2.0, power state definitions using add_power_state commands are hierarchical in nature. That is, the power state of a system is dependent on power state of its constituent IPs (represented as power domains).
Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun's rays and allows two percent (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure risk significantly.
Treatments: Chemicals and dyes that are effective at absorbing UV light can be added to enhance UPF. Fiber type: Polyester does an excellent job at disrupting UV light, as does nylon. Wool and silk are moderately effective. Cotton, rayon, flax and hemp fabrics often score low without added treatments.
The Unified Power Format (UPF) is a published IEEE standard and developed by members of Accellera. It is intended to ease the job of specifying, simulating and verifying IC designs that have a number of power states and power islands. The most recent officially published version is IEEE 1801-2013.
The Unified Power Format (UPF) is used to specify the power intent of a design. Once written, the UPF file is applied at every stage of the design cycle — starting with the RTL, then the gate-level, and finally during place and route.
CPF allows active high or active low signals, while UPF also allows specification of edges. Section 3 shows that both formats have a command to optionally map the retention requirements to specific cells or cell types.
