[Music] in this demonstration well see how to create a crystal report with multiple linked tables and to get started Im going to create a new blank report by going to file new blank report from the Crystal Reports menu bar I have an existing connection to a sample database Im going to use so Ill expand that and from my list of tables Im going to select two tables that I know have a relationship the suppliers table and the products table just select both of them and move them over to my list of selected tables and well notice that now at the top of the database expert window the links tab has been enabled if I click on the links tab well see the Crystal has made an assumption about the way these two tables are related and we can see that it has picked the supplier ID field in both tables to create the link now it does that by looking at the two tables to see if there is a field name that is the same in both tables and of course there is supplier ID and also checking the data typ

For displaying data from multiple table you need to do the following steps. You need to add another datatable to the dataset(.xsd file) Then in Field Explorer Right click on Database Fields - Database Export.. Then add the new table to the Selected Tables section and click ok.
There are many ways to display data from more than one table. You can join tables or views by a common column. You can also merge data from two or more tables or views into a single column or create a subquery to retrieve data from several tables. You can use a SELECT statement to join columns in two or more tables.
In the top left box, select the field from the main report that will be linked to the subreport. Click on the right arrow button to move the field to the top right box. In the bottom right drop down list, select the field from the subreport that will be linked to the main report. Click OK.
From the Database menu, select Set Datasource Location. The Set Datasource Location dialog box appears. In the Current Data Source area, select the data source whose connection you want to change.
Link tables are usually association/bridge tables between different Hub tables in Datavault. They mostly resolve many to many relation between different Hub tables. Example. Link - INVOICELINEITEM. Hub - INVOICE, PRODUCT etc.

Answer: Open the report in the Crystal Reports application. Select Database Database Expert from the upper toolbar. Select the Links tab. Double-click on the link (black line running between the tables) to be changed. In the Link Options window change to the desired join type (example: Left Outer Join) * Click OK.
Links have two options: join type and link operator. These settings determine how Crystal Reports matches records from both tables. The default join type is an inner join, which means that only records with a matching key in both tables are included. The default link type is equal.
