5 steps to make cutouts on complex backgrounds. Open your image in Photoshop. Make sure to select the exact layer you want to work with in the Layers panel. Select the object you want to cut out. Invert your selection. Click the Select and Mask Output your selection as a Layer Mask.
Select the Quick Selection tool or the Magic Wand tool in the Tools panel and click Select Subject in the Options bar, or choose Select Subject. Thats all you have to do to automatically select the most prominent subjects in a photograph.

Once youve loaded an image into Photoshop, just select that Layer, click on the Select menu, and then on Select Subject. Thats it! Photoshop does all the work behind the scenes and will create a selection of what it thinks the subject is in the photo.
Select an object or a region Select the Object Selection tool (W) from the toolbar in the workspace. In the Options bar, at the upper-right corner of the workspace, ensure that the Object Finder is enabled. Hover the mouse pointer over an object or region in your image you would like to select.
In the Options bar, click the Select Subject button. If you dont see the Select Subject button in the Select And Mask task space, make sure the Quick Selection tool (the first one in the toolbox) is selected.
