Links can be styled with any CSS property (e.g. color , font-family , background , etc.).
A link is a connection from one web page to another web page. CSS property can be used to style the links in various different ways. States of Link: Before discussing CSS properties, it is important to know the states of a link. Links can exist in different states and they can be styled using pseudo-classes.
To style links appropriately, put the :visited rule after the :link rule but before the :hover and :active rules, as defined by the LVHA-order: :link :visited :hover :active . The :visited pseudo-class and :link pseudo-class are mutually exclusive.
In most graphical web browsers, links are displayed in underlined blue text when they have not been visited, but underlined purple text when they have. When the user activates the link (e.g., by clicking on it with the mouse) the browser displays the links target.
The accepted and most recognizable convention for hyperlinks is that it is blue and underlined. Therefore, to avoid confusion, you should avoid coloring your normal text as blue and underlined.
You can use some basic CSS properties with CSS links. These properties include color, font-family, text-decoration, background-color, etc. You can define the color value using the colors name, hex code, or RGB value. The text-decoration property is basically used to keep or remove the underline from the links.
Default styles Links are underlined. Unvisited links are blue. Visited links are purple. Hovering a link makes the mouse pointer change to a little hand icon. Focused links have an outline around them you should be able to focus on the links on this page with the keyboard by pressing the tab key. Active links are red.
The HYPERLINK property defines actions to be taken with pages, annotations, JavaScript, and web pages. This property defines the action that is to be taken in the following situations: The user clicks an annotation. The user double-clicks the annotation and the annotationDblClick HTML parameter is used.
