hello all welcome to edrawmax lets start with understanding what a state diagram in uml is a state diagram is a diagram used in computer science to describe the behavior of a system considering all the possible states of an object when an event occurs now lets see activity versus state machines in uml activity diagrams can be used as state machines with some additional notations the vertices represent the sequence of activities and the edges represent the transition of completion and commencement of each collection of activities now lets compare activity versus state machines heres an example to show activity diagram and state machines activity diagrams capture high-level activities aspects whereas in state machines additional notations capture how activities are coordinated under activity diagrams it is possible to represent concurrency and coordination between activities while state machines show the possible states of the object and the transitions that cause a change in state

In link-state routing protocols, each router possesses information about the complete network topology. Each router then independently calculates the best next hop from it for every possible destination in the network using local information of the topology. The collection of best-next-hops forms the routing table.
Link State Routing in 4 Steps Step 1: Neighbor discovery. Each Link State enabled router periodically sends a HELLO message on each of its links. Step 2: Measuring link cost. Step 3: Building and Distributing Link State Packets. Step 4: Evaluating Shortest Paths.
A common example of a link state protocol is the OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) routing protocol. Local topological information is advertised by each router in link state advertisements (LSAs).
The first step in the link-state routing process is that each router learns about its own links, its own directly connected networks. When a router interface is configured with an IP address and subnet mask, the interface becomes part of that network. Refer to the topology in Figure 3-38.
The Link State Routing Algorithm is an interior protocol used by every router to share the information or knowledge about the rest of the routers on the network. The link state routing algorithm is a distributed algorithm using which every router computes its routing table.
The link-state advertisement (LSA) is a basic communication means of the OSPF routing protocol for the Internet Protocol (IP). It communicates the routers local routing topology to all other local routers in the same OSPF area.
In the Link - State Routing Protocol, the router attempts to construct its own internal map of the network topology. It provides the information about whether the link to docHub the router is active or not. Every router will create something called Link state packets.
The link state routing algorithm consists of two phases. In the first phase (Reliable Flooding), the information about neighbors is gathered and transmitted. In the second phase (route calculation), every router uses the shortest path computation algorithm to calculate the most optimal route to every router.
Link State Advertisements (LSAs) are messages communicated via multicast to other routers in the OSPF domain. They are sent from internal routers to the DR/BDR routers to announce changes. This communication occurs on multicast address 224.0. 0.6.
As already mentioned, Link State routing protocols hold 3 distinctive tables: a neighbor table, a topology table, and an actual routing table. Link state routing operation follows four simple steps; each link state enabled router must perform the following: Discover its neighbors and build its neighbor table.
